4707 brake shoes are commonly used in heavy-duty vehicle braking systems. The following is a detailed introduction:
Structural features
No protrusions on the belly: Compared with some other types of brake shoes, the belly of the 4707 brake shoe usually has no protrusions, but there are special cases, which cannot be used as the only basis for judgment.
Rivet hole distribution: There are 3 rivet holes on one side of the metal base of the brake shoe, and these 3 sets of rivet holes are 5/8 inches away from the belly.
Dimensions: The general brake width is 7 inches, and the brake size (diameter) is 16.5 inches, which is larger than some brake shoes such as the 4515 model.
Application scenarios: Mainly used in heavy vehicles, such as freight trucks, buses, etc., commonly used in the drive axles or trailer axles of Rockwell and Meritor axles.
Friction material: Semi-metal friction materials are mostly used. This material has good heat resistance and wear resistance, can maintain stable friction performance under frequent braking and high load conditions, can effectively dissipate heat, and reduce brake fading.
