The brake air chamber is a device composed of an air inlet, a cover, a diaphragm, a support plate, a return spring, a housing, a push rod, a connecting fork, a clamp and a bolt, etc. It is also called a wheel cylinder.

The function of the brake air chamber is to convert the pressure of compressed air into mechanical force that rotates the brake camshaft to achieve braking action. The brake air chamber is a clamp-clamped diaphragm type. The front and rear brake chambers are different in size, but their structures are basically the same.

When the car brakes, air enters the brake chamber from the air inlet, deforms the diaphragm under the action of air pressure, pushes the push rod, drives the brake adjustment arm, rotates the brake cam, and moves the brake shoe friction plate Pressing against the brake drum causes braking.

The braking force of the diaphragm air chamber push rod is proportional to the input air pressure; the parking brake chamber is a braking device that uses a spring to store energy and release air. The inflation pressure enters the pressure air chamber from port 12 and generates a force acting on the piston. When the pressure is greater than 0.65MPa, the force acting on the piston is greater than the preload force of the spring. The piston moves up to the limit and the brake is released; if the pressure in the chamber When the air is completely exhausted, the spring pushes the piston downward, pushing the main brake push rod to generate braking. The braking strength is related to the spring preload force; when the air pressure in the pressure air chamber is lower than 0.65MPa, the braking force generated by the sub-chamber is inversely proportional to the air pressure value. , so emergency braking can be implemented.
